We suggest that you try three sessions to really give your relationship the opportunity to heal

In couples therapy, the counsellor will help you and your partner identify the difficult issues within your relationship, and will help you decide what changes are needed, in the relationship and in the behaviour of each partner, for both of you to feel satisfied with the relationship.
Couples therapy involves learning how to communicate more effectively, and how to listen more closely. Couples will learn how to avoid competing with each other, and need to identify common life goals and how to share responsibilities within their relationship.
The process is similar to individual counselling; however there is normally an agenda for the sessions brought in to the sessions by one of you.

There will be some education in how to be more effective in:
• communication skills,
• delegation,
• honesty,
• understanding your own perception,
• taking responsibility for your own reaction,
• how to stop arguments,
• how to set boundaries,
• how to make decisions together,
• how to say yes how to say no
• How to work through fear of intimacy or Emotional anorexia
• How to love again how to be loved again
The combination of the components is what makes it effective. Please give your relationship a try as we at Talk about it counselling believe that quite often people think it’s the person that is the problem, so getting rid of them will solve the problem but you may find that the next relationship bares the same fruit, the same problems. First it is essentially to work on your self in the relationship THEN together to sort out the issues.
